I have tested this method and its works for me but it’s involved uninstalling WhatsApp and reinstalling it. this method can remove your message between backup and current time.

There is two way available to recover your deleted WhatsApp messages If you have Android or Ios phone you can recover your message from cloud backup. Also as an Android user, you can restore your messages from the local database file.

If you’ve got deleted your chats accidentally, there is a chance that the chat was present on your cloud backup. This is the universal and easiest method to get back your messages. This method will work for both Android and iPhone.

Step-1: Uninstall WhatsApp from your device.

Step-2: Open Playstore or App Store and search for WhatsApp and install it.

Step-3: Setting it up using your phone number.

Step-4: Once the app is about up, you’ll get a prompt asking you to retrieve messages from a cloud backup from there Tap “Restore”.

Step-5: Now tap “Next” to complete the process.

Using this process you will get back the messages that you simply had accidentally deleted. Note that if you bought a message after your most up-to-date cloud backup and deleted it, there are no thanks to recovering it.

Restoring deleted WhatsApp chats via Android’s local backup

This method is a little bit complicated and it’s only worked for Android devices if you are using iPhone you should follow the above step. If your Google Drive backup has overwritten the deleted messages, then follow these steps.

Step-1: Open Google’s Files app on your Android phone (If you can not find it on your phone install it from Playstore).

Step-2: Now navigate to Whatsapp => Database folder and select the file msgstore.db.crypt12 and rename it to msgstore_BACKUP.db.crypt12. This file contains your most recent chat history, you can rename it to its original to go back to the previous state.

Step-3: Now you can see lots of files within the format msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12. Pick the formest recent one and rename it to msgstore.db.crypt12.

Step-4: Now delete the WhatsApp backup from your Google Drive. this may force your phone to revive from the local backup instead.

Step-5: Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp on your device and sign in using your WhatsApp account.

Step-6: Once the app is about up, you’ll get a prompt asking you to retrieve messages from a cloud backup from there Tap “Restore“.

After completing this method you will see the deleted messages on your WhatsApp chat list. but most recent chats will be gone. I dose not recommend this method if you don’t know how the backup process works.




How to back up WhatsApp messages to Cloud Drive

Whatsapp provides a backup functionality to retrieve deleted messages easily. this is the easiest and hassle-free way to retrieve deleted WhatsApp messages. If you want to keep securing your further messages you should turn on the Whatsapp backup feature.

To enable the WhatsApp backup feature, follow the steps below.

Step-1: Open WhatsApp on your smartphone and tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step-2: Now navigate Setting => Chats => Chat backup.

Step-3: Select “Backup to Google Drive” and select the Google account that you want to use for your WhatsApp backups, or connect a new account by tapping “Add Account.”
